Since it opened one month ago, the French Lick casino received more than 156,000 visitors. The Indiana Gaming Commission has reported that the state’s newest riverboat casino obtained $9.4 million in gross revenues during November.
The owners of the French Lick casino expect one million people a year will visit the venue to play blackjack, slots, roulette, poker and many other games. Government authorities see it as a way to boost Indiana’s crumbling economy.
“The marketing staff was surprised by the tremendous response to the weekday tour buses, which ride patrons to French Lick for a small fee from cities around the region,” Mark Bommarito, Vice President for Marketing and Sales said.
According to officials, the casino must wait until March or April to know how it will do in the state’s gambling market.
